Judges are selected from across the charity legacy giving community. Judges contribute valuable time and effort to work through hundreds of entries, reviewing against strict criteria and attributing scores against a transparent system aimed at recognising and rewarding inspirational legacy teams and individuals.

Judging criteria Smee & Ford Legacy Giving Awards

Excellence – Outstanding sector-leading examples of skill, best practise, activity, and process. Providing an exemplary role model or case study for other legacy professionals, other teams in the legacy fundraising sector, and for the wider charity community.

Innovation - The creativity and agility used to meet challenges and exceed goals. Using fresh and successful new methods to deal with regular legacy giving and administration processes. Pushing and stretching the traditional boundaries and techniques used in the legacy sector, reaching new donor audiences, and using the latest technology, processes, and communication channels.

Impact - The benefits from the point of view of your legacy team, your charity, your beneficiaries, and the wider legacy giving sector. These benefits could include increased income, a gain in pledged income, increased reach of your legacy campaign message, increasing your charity’s projects or services, or achieving your charities goals and targets.

Judging takes place Monday 9th January – Once the entry phase closes all the submissions will be sent to our judges for online review.
